When my father was young he used to keep the fan in low speed thinking that it will save electricity. Later he realized that the current consumed is same on all levels of speed. (I too used to think why cant we make regulator which really consumes less power for low speed. Not sure whether this has already come though... :))
Similarly, I some where read that black screen consumes less power (not sure on this, yet to check), tats why my blog's color is black (@least till the time i figure out the fact). plz bare with it.
